After a brief detour (I took the wrong exit & got us a little lost) our first stop was the Santa Barbara farmers market. This is an amazing market full of local everything. The Swiss chard was so pretty I had to take a picture of it.
There's nothing like fresh local cherries on a warm spring day. We bought the big tub and ate them all the way home. Delicious.
Sweet peas are one of my favorite spring flowers and these bunches were lovely. I wish I could have brought them all home.
My favorite shop on Stearn's Wharf ... the palm reader. I've never been inside but I've always found it intriguing and ... the sign hanging out front is fantastic.
A local ... on a vintage scooter, wearing flip flops, with an old 7up crate for a trunk. Does it really get any better than that?
My family has made the pilgrimage up the coast to the Santa Barbara Shellfish Company for as long as I can remember. They have amazing fresh seafood and a wonderful view. We waited for a table outside and enjoyed a little ocean air.
The shrimp tacos ... simply yummy.
Perfect weather and a perfect afternoon.
Thank you for always remembering to pick me up from school. For never missing a practice, game, teachers conference, school play, or graduation. For telling me that perm (you know the one) didn't look so bad. For the courdaroy pants that I hated so much. For picking up all those m&m boxes just so I could get a free t-shirt. For sitting on the bleachers for 32 hours straight. For laughing with me ... and crying with me. For pushing me through the flea market in my stroller. For being such a fantastic cook and making the best food ever. For always supporting me and teaching me to follow my dreams. For calling me out when I'm wrong. Thank you for being the best mom ... and the best friend I could ever ask for.
